A donation taking site that is set apart from the rest of the "save the dying children in Africa" sites. Additionally, use the site to cross promote the documentary film on the same subject.
SOLUTION:
The goal of the site is to take donations for children's schools in Sierra Leone. We came up with the concept of buying bricks of a school for a certain amount of money. With each brick purchased, the purchaser would get to write their name and have a link to their website (much like the million dollar homepage idea). Taking this one step further, I decided to use the entire site as one building and each page is a brick of the building.
Working with the people close to you presents a unique challenge. Kelly, the designer, is very close to me, so her satisfaction was of the utmost importance. The main goal of this site was to integrate her business card flipping onto the page, while creating a vision of "stitching" our way through the site. The site was built entirely on paper first, the stitches are actually stitched into paper, then scanned in and converted to images to enhance the realism.
Using tribal type vectors to envelope the imagery and enclose the site, the integration was the only thing left. Because the text and image content had to be dynamic, I stuck with certain "templates" throughout the site. With the administration, the customer can change all image and all text found on the site.
Jewelry Showcase Website with Administration Designer, Developer
CHALLENGE:
Clean, but not empty.
SOLUTION:
In this case, the jewelry speaks for itself. Each piece is a work of art. It was a no-brainer decision to use, and focus, on the jewelry. Using thin fonts and the pre-existing identity, this remarkably transparent website, speaks volumes. (NOTE: This site was taken down by the client and re-built. The external link is to my staging server where the site still exists).
